Fabric Art

Reflecting the colors of a secret garden

About the Artist

Tina Frassica lives and creates her art in Gloucester.

For many years the main focus of her training and art were in ceramics, studying at the Fairmount Center for the Arts in Cleveland Heights Ohio, Boston University and the Worcester Center for Crafts.

Over the past few years she has returned to her love of working with fabric, quilting and sewing.  During this time, it has become her primary artistic focus.

Tina’s other art includes painting on found objects i.e. vintage dressers, wooden ironing boards etc. as well as acrylic on canvas studies.

“Working with Fabric gives me an unlimited palette of color and pattern to help me achieve my vision.”

About my work

Art composed of textiles is my focus. Some of the works you’ll see here take inspiration from traditional quilt patterns while others depart significantly from the symmetry and color palette one might expect from a quilt. I love to work with colors and shapes to create something new and visually interesting and fabric is such a rich medium for this type of experimentation and discovery.
